New to Oakdale and no idea who’s who and what’s what? Let me introduce you to some Oakdale residents mentioned in this Word Soap. Don’t let it scare you, though. Even without any background information, this story will tell itself.
Luke Snyder: Biological son of Lily Walsh and Damian Grimaldi. Adoptive father: Holden Snyder.
Young millionaire. When his boyfriend (at that time), Noah Mayer, looses his eyesight in an accident, Luke approaches a world neurosurgeon to help them out. When the doctor refuses, Luke blackmails him into coming to Oakdale.
Dr. Reid Oliver: World famous neurosurgeon. Rude. Arrogant. Brilliant.
To keep the doctor in town, a new neuro wing is dangled in front of the doctor’s face and he bites. But after some time it becomes obvious that the new wing – financially backed by Luke’s Foundation – is just part of Dr. Oliver’s attraction to ‘Oakhell’. After a lot of confusion, misunderstandings and frustration, Luke and Reid finally acknowledge their connection.
Dr. Bob and Kim Hughes:
Bob is Chief of Staff at Memorial. Father figure to Reid.
Kim is Bob’s wife and she owns the local TV station, WOAK.
Dr. Chris Hughes: Son of Kim and Bob. Paediatrician in Memorial. During his stay in Africa he was infected by some virus that’s attacking his heart. He tries to keep it a secret – partly because he wants to be the next Chief of Staff but Reid is in that race too – but then he becomes too sick to hide.
When this Word Soap starts he’s in a relationship with Katie Snyder.
Lily Walsh & Holden Snyder: Luke’s parents. Rocky relationship – to put it mildly – and when this Word Soap starts they’re separated again.
Molly Conlan: Holden first love and mother of their daughter Abigail.
Damian Grimaldi: Luke’s ‘bad dad’ from Malta. Involved in many shady businesses and not be trusted. Has a lifetime crush on Lily, but when this Word Soap starts he’s in jail.
Katie Snyder:
One of the few ‘Oakdalians’ that actually knows how to handle Dr. Reid Oliver. Lost her husband Brad and lives with their son Jacob in an apartment with Dr. Reid as her roommate…
Alison Stewart: Nurse in Memorial. Involved with Casey Hughes. Tried to marry. Didn’t happen. Friends with Luke.
Casey Hughes:
Close friend of Luke. Dr. Bob’s grandson. Studies law.
Noah Mayer:
Luke’s first love and now ex-boyfriend.
Faith, Natalie and Ethan: Luke’s siblings (Holden and Lily are their parents…as far as we know…)
Emma Snyder: mother of Holden. Lives on a farm that’s always overrun by numerous guests and drama. Loves to cook.
Barbara and Henry Coleman: She is a famous fashion designer. He owns Al’s diner and Metro. Together they make an odd, but beautiful couple.
Will and Gwen Munson:
Close friends with Luke. Will is Barbara’s son.
Margo Hughes:
Chief of Police. Mother of Casey Hughes.
