Waking up in the hospital bed was weird. But soon I noticed something even more weird. Everybody felt familiar. The situations were new, so it was not a déjà vu or anything like that. But all the faces, nurses, patients, doctors…I ‘knew’ them.
When I told Peter, he wasn’t as surprised as I expected him to be. He’d done some research on epilepsy and recognizing strangers is one of the effects of a epileptic seizure. Whenever I could turn off my brain, – and dismiss the fear of going crazy- I could actually enjoy the experience. In a way it was comforting. Feeling part of a bigger picture. Feeling home in unfamiliar surroundings.
